How to use the LMS365 Player to make the learning process more efficient and accessible to all

LMS365 tries to provide all people with equal opportunity to access the knowledge. We constantly improve the accessibility of the LMS365 Player. Currently it is available via the screen reader, e.g. jaws, and keyboard. The design of the Player is AA level colour contrast compliant.

Below you will find the list of the learning objects that are accessible. You can use them to create your accessible course.

The Learning Module Items:

  • Microsoft Stream;

  • Microsoft Sway;

  • Microsoft Forms;

  • YouTube;

  • Office Video;

  • Content Editor;

  • Documents and other embedded documents;

  • Quiz questions.

  • 🛈The screen reader may have different behavior if the Learner works with different types of content (Multimedia, Content, Files & Website or Other Embed Code) within the learning module.

  • 🛈The accessibility of the embedded documents (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, PDF files, etc.) and code (Vimeo, Flickr etc.) may behave in a different way depending on the embedded file itself.

  • 🛈The accessibility of the Content Packages and External Apps depends on the packages as well.

The type of the Quiz Questions:

  • multiple choice;

  • multiple answers;

  • true or false;

  • gap fill;

  • short answer;

  • free text answer.

  • 🛈Be aware that we do not support the accessibility of the Ordering, Hot spot and Matching types of the questions.

The way the screen reader interprets the learning content.

If the Learner switches between the separate Learning Module, Quiz or Content Package, the screen reader will start interpreting from the main content:

If the Learner goes to the Quiz or Content Package from any other learning item or vice versa, the screen reader will interpret the content in the
following way:

  1. 1. The title of the page.

  2. 2. The URL.

  3. 3. All breadcrumbs.

  4. 4. The active links in the table of content and then the main content or just the main content.

Once the Microsoft Stream, Microsoft Sway, Office video or any other embedded code is added to the Learning Module, the way of reading will be in the following way:

  1. 1. The title of the page.

  2. 2. The URL.

  3. 3. All breadcrumbs

  4. 4. The active links in the table of content and then the main content or just the main content.

We are constantly optimizing the Player. Currently all action buttons throughout the Player are fully accessible.

To prevent the change in the way the screen reader interprets the content, we recommend creating the course using only one learning module that will include all the learning objects. However, we do not guarantee that it will exclude any inconsistencies in how the screen reader interprets the content.
