FBA configuration

Apart default FBA configuration, LMS and REM requires MembershipProviderRoleProvider and Connectionstring configurations to be added in SharePoint Timer Service config file (C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN\OWSTIMER.EXE.config).

Those configurations should be added between <configuration> </configuration> tags.

See example below:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<configuration>
<startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0.30319" />
</startup>
<runtime>
<NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy enabled="true" />
<appDomainManagerAssembly value="Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" />
<appDomainManagerType value="Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAppDomainManager" />
</runtime>

<system.web>
<membership>
<providers>
<add connectionStringName="fbaSQL" applicationName="/" name="fbaMembers" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider, System.Web,
Version=2.0.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" />
</providers>
</membership>
<roleManager enabled="true">
<providers>
<add connectionStringName="fbaSQL" applicationName="/" name="fbaRoles" type="System.Web.Security.SqlRoleProvider, System.Web,
Version=2.0.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" />

</providers>
</roleManager>
</system.web>
<connectionStrings>
<add name="fbaSQL" connectionString="server=srv-sql2012;database=fbaSQL;Trusted_Connection=true" />
</connectionStrings>

</configuration>

NOTE: This additional configuration is needed in order FBA Role members can be resolved by LMS, REM and other our products’ timer jobs in case when customer adds the whole FBA Role in SharePoint group.
